Root canal treatment

Root canal treatment is a specialized dental procedure used to treat infections or damage inside the tooth’s pulp—the soft tissue that contains nerves and blood vessels. At Dr. Ahmed Fouda’s clinic, modern endodontic techniques are used to relieve pain, eliminate infection, and preserve the natural tooth instead of extracting it.

When the inner pulp becomes infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures, cracks, or trauma, it can cause severe pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling, or even abscess formation. Root canal treatment aims to remove this infected tissue and save the tooth from further damage.

The procedure begins with a thorough examination and digital X-rays to assess the extent of infection. After numbing the area for patient comfort, the infected pulp is carefully removed from inside the tooth. The root canals are then cleaned, shaped, and disinfected using specialized instruments and antiseptic solutions.

Once the canals are properly cleaned, they are filled and sealed with a biocompatible material to prevent reinfection. In many cases, a dental crown is recommended afterward to restore strength, function, and protection to the treated tooth.

Modern root canal therapy is highly effective and typically no more uncomfortable than getting a regular filling. With advanced technology and precise techniques, the procedure is performed efficiently with minimal discomfort and high success rates.

Dr. Ahmed Fouda focuses on providing pain-relieving, tooth-preserving treatments that prioritize patient comfort and long-term oral health. By saving natural teeth whenever possible, root canal therapy helps maintain proper chewing function and preserves the natural appearance of the smile.

With proper care and follow-up, a treated tooth can last for many years, allowing patients to enjoy a healthy, functional, and pain-free smile.
